Determined Cath has an Unstoppable Passion

Imagine creating intricate, beautiful artwork using only your eyes…Well that’s exactly what Cath Muir does. Diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2014, Cath lost the ability to move her hands, but refused to give up her passion for art. Instead, she turned to Eye Gaze technology which allows her to painting stunning pieces with just her eyes from her home in North Yorkshire.

Lucy Pittaway came across Cath’s work and was instantly captivated “Art is a powerful way to express yourself, and Cath’s ability to do this despite the challenges she faces is nothing short of remarkable” Lucy says.

“She hasn’t let MND stop her from doing what she loves, and that’s something I find hugely inspiring.”

Beyond her art, Cath is a passionate campaigner for the MND Association. Alongside her husband Ian, she has been instrumental in fundraising for the charity, helping to drive forward research and awareness. Their work has not only raised vital funds but also given hope to those affected by MND.

Cath’s story resonates deeply with Lucy, who lost her father to this cruel disease. Cath’s determination and ability to find joy in creativity are a source of inspiration.

Today, we honour Cath’s extraordinary spirit. Let’s support her mission and help fund crucial research.
