Tour de France with the Pittaways!

This summer, Lucy Pittaway’s colourful cycling artwork isn’t just capturing the spirit of the Tour de France on canvas – it’s following it across the mountains too.

Lucy’s husband Neil and son William have packed up the Lucy Pittaway van and headed south from North Yorkshire to follow the 2025 Tour de France, combining their love of cycling with a mission to support the MND Association and celebrate Lucy’s passion for cycling-inspired art.

Their journey kicked off with a drive through France before reaching the heart of the Alps, with plans to ride some of the most iconic sections of the Tour. So far, they’ve taken on steep climbs, soaked in the atmosphere of stage starts like Bollène, and cycled 35km up to Courchevel Col de la Loze to catch the race at its dramatic mountain finish.

Along the way, the van has become a moving piece of art itself, wrapped in Lucy’s distinctive cycling designs and a QR code inviting people to donate to the MND Association. If you spot the van, don’t forget to tag @lucypittawayart for your chance to win a 10″ mounted print of your choice. Five lucky winners will be announced before the end of July.

The road trip also coincides with the launch of Lucy’s latest cycling piece, Alpine Adventures, which draws inspiration directly from this kind of experience – climbing through the mountains, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, with Mont Blanc in the distance and switchbacks that echo Alpe d’Huez in the background. It’s a celebration of cycling and the freedom it brings, as well as a nod to the journey Neil and William are living out in real time.

This isn’t the first time the Pittaway family has embraced the world of cycling. Lucy was the official artist for the Tour de Yorkshire from 2016 to 2018, and cycling continues to be a strong theme in her work, often blending movement, colour and story into each scene.

With more to come from their travels, we’ll be sharing updates as Neil and William continue their Tour de France adventure, flying the flag for Lucy Pittaway artwork, fundraising for a cause close to the family’s heart, and making memories on two wheels.

Follow their journey on our social channels and join in the celebration of cycling, art and adventure.

Don’t forget: 5% of all cycling artwork sales from 20th July to 5th August 2025 will go directly to the MND Association.
