Chasing Rainbows
This original has now been sold.
Medium: Soft Pastel on Board
Inspired by a young boy named Joshua, who first visited our gallery in 2015 with his parents, 'Chasing Rainbows' is a picture that reflects much about him and the things he loves but its very much a picture for children. Joshua has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a condition that affects children all over the world and often sees their lives sadly cut short in their teens or twenties.
With 79 daisies in the painting to reflect the 79 exons that are affected in the dystrophin gene, they not only add to the cheery nature of the picture but they have a deeper meaning, as do the layered trees. These reflect the many layers that the human being consists of, both physically and mentally.
'Chasing Rainbows' is a bright and cheerful painting which reflects hope, positivity, childhood innocence and nature but most of all it is meant to bring a smile to a face.
