New Art Release – As Time Goes By

Lucy Sycamore Artwork

Award-winning British artist Lucy Pittaway introduces her latest artwork, “As Time Goes By,” a meaningful portrayal of peaceful contemplation set against the idyllic backdrop of the river Ouse. Using her signature medium of pastels, Pittaway captures the essence of tranquility with notable depth and feeling.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the river Ouse, “As Time Goes By” depicts a couple finding solace in each other’s company amidst the quiet surroundings. Framed by the iconic Lendal Bridge, the artwork captures the rhythmic movement of daily life as narrowboats glide by, echoing the perpetual ebb and flow of existence. Against this backdrop, the changing seasons weave a tapestry of colours, symbolising the recurring nature of time.

Pittaway, a multi-award-winning artist, and the UK’s most popular published artist for several consecutive years, fills “As Time Goes By” with her artistic vision and knowhow, using pastels to bring the scene to life with feeling.

“At the heart of  ‘As Time Goes By’ lies a universal theme – the fleeting nature of time and the significance of moments of stillness,” explains Lucy Pittaway. “I aimed to express the essence of reflection, where individuals pause to ponder life’s journey and draw strength from the presence of loved ones.”

Experience this appealing artwork “As Time Goes By” at the York Gallery, where Lucy Pittaway’s latest creation awaits.
