Launching at Our Richmond Gallery This Weekend
A New Artwork Inspired by Yorkshire
Morning Light on Aysgarth Falls is a new piece by Lucy Pittaway. It reflects one of the most well-known views in the Yorkshire Dales. The scene brings together the River Ure, Yore Bridge, and the historic Yore Mill. Rolling fields frame the background, giving the landscape a clear sense of place.
The Story Behind the Scene
The river moves across the stepped falls, with Yore Bridge guiding the eye through the artwork. Yore Mill sits close by. The mill dates back to the late 18th century and has served several roles, including cotton, corn, and wool.
In the distance, the farmland rises in layers. A hot-air balloon appears on the horizon. Two sheep rest by the riverbank, anchoring the landscape in familiar Dales countryside.
Each part of the scene works together to show a calm moment from early morning.
Launching at Our Meet the Artist Event
The artwork will launch at our Meet the Artist event in the Richmond Gallery, North Yorkshire, on Saturday 6 December.
Lucy will be in the gallery from 1pm to 3pm to talk about the new piece. She will also sign any copies of her artwork during the event.
