Another win for the UK’s Favourite Artist

YORKSHIRE ARTIST WINS UK’S MOST POPULAR PUBLISHED ARTIST 2022 FOR THE THIRD TIME.

Yorkshire-based artist Lucy Pittaway has once again been recognised at the Fine Art Trade Guild (FATG) Awards, held in Stratford Upon Avon, clinching the ‘UK’s Most Popular Published Artist’ for an impressive third time on 14th May 2022.

Lucy’s Triumphs:

  • 2018: Awarded for ‘Butterflies and Babies’
  • 2019: Honoured for ‘A Yorkshire Garden’, created for the Chelsea Flower Show
  • 2022: Recognised once more for ‘Our Happy Place’ after a two-year award suspension

Reflecting on the challenging journey, Lucy remarked, “The accolade brings significance to all our hard work. Emerging not only intact but also flourishing is humbling. I aspire for my journey to inspire other artists.”

Industry Recognition:

Jo Palmer GCF(APF) Adv, Chair & Master of the Guild from May 2019 to May 2022, stated, “Reuniting as a Guild Family this year felt wonderful. With a tight contest, Lucy stood out as a deserving winner of this award.”

The accolade underscores the robust appetite for art amongst consumers, marking a societal shift in art consumption. Lucy’s approach makes art accessible, ensuring everyone can own a piece in their homes.

About the Winning Artwork:

‘Our Happy Place’, part of the ‘Staycation’ collection, is a deeply personal artwork mirroring Lucy’s invaluable family time. This piece struck a chord with many, making it the standout artwork of 2021.

The artwork captures cherished moments with loved ones in treasured places. For Lucy, it’s the verdant flora juxtaposed with the sunset over the Lake District’s rugged peaks. This tranquil depiction evokes the warmth of home, signifying that everyone has their special sanctuary.
