Introducing ‘Fog on the Tyne’ – A New Artwork by Lucy

Lucy’s latest artwork, Fog on the Tyne, offers a serene glimpse of the River Tyne on a foggy morning. The Tyne Bridge, an iconic symbol of Tyneside, emerges softly through the mist, creating a scene that feels both familiar and timeless.\r\n

At the heart of the piece, a lone figure in a red coat sits quietly on a riverside bench, gazing over the water. Vibrant autumn leaves frame this contemplative moment, their shades of red, orange, and green adding warmth and life to the otherwise muted surroundings. The contrast between the sharp detail of the leaves and the diffuse morning fog draws the eye, inviting viewers to pause and reflect.

While Fog on the Tyne marks a departure from Lucy’s signature works featuring colourful landscapes, sheep, and cycling themes, her distinctive style remains unmistakable. The thoughtful composition, subtle detail, and balance of colour ensure that it still feels uniquely Lucy.

The original Fog on the Tyne artwork is now on display at Lucy’s newest gallery in Newcastle, located in Monument Mall on Blackett Street. It sits alongside Northern Angel, another recent piece created as a tribute to the North East, featuring the Angel of the North under a striking northern lights sky. Both artworks celebrate the region’s iconic landmarks and its captivating atmosphere.

This artwork encapsulates the changing seasons along the Tyne, capturing a peaceful moment by the riverbank. Whether you’ve experienced this setting yourself or are seeing it through Lucy’s eyes, Fog on the Tyne is a piece that celebrates the beauty of stillness and the ever-present charm of Tyneside.

Fog on the Tyne is available now as a mounted print, framed print, and canvas in all eight galleries and online.
