The Story Behind Lucy’s Sycamore Gap Art and Trail

We’re excited to share the journey behind Lucy’s Sycamore Gap artwork here, inspired by the sad demise of the Sycamore Gap tree, and the creation of the Lucy Pittaway Trail at Swinton Estate.

The Inspiration Behind the Art

Lucy’s recent visit to Sycamore Gap, a site known for, what was, an iconic tree and breathtaking landscape, sparked an idea.

Determined to make a difference, Lucy decided that a tree would be planted for every print of her Sycamore Gap artwork sold. This initiative is not just about preserving the memory of Sycamore Gap but also about fostering new growth and hope for the future.

The Birth of the Lucy Pittaway Trail

This journey has led to the creation of the Lucy Pittaway Trail at Swinton Estate. The trail, now being created, will feature information boards, and sculptures, set amidst the estate’s beautiful natural surroundings, offering visitors a unique experience where art and nature come together.

Watch the Journey Unfold

We invite you to watch Lucy’s video to gain a deeper understanding of the inspiration behind her Sycamore Gap art and the trail’s creation. The video provides an informative and heartfelt insight into this remarkable journey.
