Poppies and Peace

Where Remembrance Meets Hope

Beneath a brooding, atmospheric sky, a sweeping field of poppies gives way to rolling green hills that stretch out to the sea. Along their crest, Lucy’s much-loved sheep march with quiet determination, a gentle procession through a landscape of remembrance.

Above them, the Red Arrows cut through the clouds, trailing ribbons of red, white and blue. On the distant headland, a lighthouse stands steadfast, a beacon of hope. Hidden within the scene, two ladybirds, traditional symbols of protection and blessing, wait to be discovered by the patient eye.

Worked in pastel on board, every layer of this highly detailed original rewards close viewing, from the texture of each poppy petal to the shifting light in the sky.

‘Poppies and Peace’ is a celebration of Britishness, freedom and hope for the future: a piece to treasure, and to pass down.
