Up The Boro
Up the Boro is Lucy Pittaway’s latest tribute combining family, football and fundraising. Created to mark 25 years since the passing of her father, former Middlesbrough FC player and manager Willie Maddren, the piece carries a very personal meaning. The artwork features Lucy’s well-known sheep character dressed in a Boro hat and scarf, set in front of the Riverside Stadium. Look closely and you’ll find her father’s name and number quietly worked into the scene, adding a personal touch for those who know the story. The original has been released to help raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, with 100% of its sale price being donated to support the charity’s vital work. Prints and canvases are also available, with merchandise to follow soon.
