This painting, so simple in its appearance, holds a story within it. From a time, several years ago, when I was in New Zealand on my travels, I distinctly remember driving along under a night sky and being aware of the biggest moon I have ever seen, hence the size of the moon here! I was thinking about my family on the other side of the world and wondering what they might be doing. It seemed the perfect title 'opposite sides of the moon'.
